| the survivors standing with their faith |
All of them, as a matter of fact, needs the assistance like no other people on earth are needing. And in the middle of all this, could you see a beauty of anything that had happened? Some say, that one of the good things these people could experience is the assistance of the government. But are they enjoying everything? Or are they receiving enough amount of goods that they need?
Well, I don't know what's the real score for me to give a factual statement but rather an opinion on what ground they are standing on--that they may not be receiving enough of those to savor. Some also say that being alive is one of the good things these people are receiving as of the time being. But we can't hide it in their eyes the longing for those lifeless, innocent and now cold people scattered on the concrete pavements painted with the bold word, 'HELP'.
What made me almost cry with happiness and respect to them was when I watched the news on one of the television programs, showing the people of the affected areas, holding and working hand in hand in cleaning the mess that the devastation has brought. Especially when I saw them smiling despite the fact that their homes are already gone. "Kahit ganito ang kalagayan namin, kailangan pa rin naming ngumiti at damhin ang saya lalo na at malapit na ang pasko."("Even though our situation is like this, we still have to smile and feel the happiness especially that Christmas is approaching.") I heard one of the survivors said.
Another thing is their strong faith in the Highest despite the fact that nothing's left but their whole being. I was moved when I saw them inside a now wrecked church, kneeling and holding their hands together in prayer, crying and talking to Him like a child communicating to its parent.

there, I realized something. It may not be so easy to forget the impact of the typhoon to our brothers and sisters. It may even take them years or decades to recover. But one thing is for sure--with those helping hands and positive approach, despite the hunger but the strength to move on, all of them will rise and shine like a new tomorrow will bring them hope, joy and faith. That is the beauty one could find in a disaster.
